Elle Skelton, BC-TMH, LCPC, LPCC, LPC, LPC-MHSP

Elle is the Founder of Self-Empowerment Counseling, a Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider, and is a multi-state Licensed Professional Counselor including Illinois (LCPC), Kentucky (LPCC), Oklahoma (LPC), Tennessee (LPC-MHSP), and Florida. She currently lives in the Chicago area and provides professional counseling to individuals in all five states.

Elle earned a Masters in Counseling Psychology and is where she first started her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure Therapy. She continued her training working at a higher level of care in 2017 providing individual and group counseling along with providing support to patients’ family members via family sessions. Since graduate school, she has completed over 5,800 supervised hours working with patients struggling with OCD and its related disorders, generalized anxiety, depression, and eating disorders in the PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) and IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) levels of care. Elle uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, Behavior Activation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and incorporates DBT Skills to treat a variety of disorders including obsessive compulsive disorder, skin picking, hair pulling, hoarding, phobias, body dysmorphic disorder, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, depression, eating disorders, TIC/Tourette.

Elle’s goal is to provide support and help to individuals tackling every day and life stressors with more confidence, hope, and self-empowerment. Elle is excited to be able to provide outpatient level of care to individuals in multiple states via TeleMental Health services. 

Elle is on the board for OCD Midwest (Chapter of IOCDF including IL, IN, and OH), attends annual IOCDF conferences, and volunteers annually at the IOCDF OCD Kids Camp. She is an active member in the mental health community attending continuing education (CEU) and training events, involved in research studies and new therapy trainings to be on top of new research and therapies to provide the best Patient care.

Elle enjoys spending time with family including her dog and cat, practicing yoga, live music, and the winter snowy months. 

 

Leslie Alton, LCPC, MHC, LPC

Leslie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She currently lives in the Chicago area and provides professional counseling to those in Illinois (LCPC), Indiana (MHC), Oklahoma (LPC), and Florida.  She earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology and a Masters in Counseling. She continued her training working at a higher level of care (Partial Hospitalization Program-PHP, and Intensive Outpatient Program- IOP) providing individual and group counseling, along with supporting the individual and their loved ones via family sessions. She started working in the mental health field since undergrad and has over 3,330 supervised hours working at a higher level of care. She supports emerging adults and adults of diverse populations that live with varying levels of depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma and struggle with life transitions and challenges.

To best meet the needs of each individual, she uses evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

Leslie’s goal is to provide a non-judgmental environment for individuals to safely explore behaviors, thoughts, and emotions and the impacts they have on daily life.

Leslie enjoys spending time outside, swinging in a hammock, biking or rollerblading, listening to either music or podcasts, and enjoys cooking and trying new recipes.

Sherlock Holmes, Therapy Assistant

Woof! My name is Sherlock Holmes and I am on the case to help you investigate your anxiety and fears! I am 12 years young and love to help people who may have a phobia of dogs or animals. I have experience supporting patients with their exposures. I love cuddling, chew toys, and running as fast as I an in parks.
